We continue to meet with the community to provide updates on some changes to our proposal for the development of 2621 Sooke Road.

Community Conversation #1: Questions & Comments
- The existing traffic conditions on Sooke rd. are already of concern (volume and safety).
- What is going to happen with traffic flow considering all the development going on?
- Do we have any information regarding future plans for Sooke Rd?
- The same could be said for Jacklin rd.
- Intersection of Sooke and Jacklin of concern. Where on the frontage of Jacklin rd. would the access to the site be?
- Parking is already limited on Jacklin, concerned that people would be parking on Ernhill. Do the proposed units have suites?
- Concerns about an increase in pedestrian and vehicle traffic accessing the lake via Ayton place, due to the increase in population in the area.
- Is there an aerial view available to see the layout of the proposed homes?
- How are we planning on managing the conflict between Colwood and Langford’s visions / community plans?
- What is the plan for the existing nature of the site? Is there intent to utilize any of the existing trees in the development?
- Is there any potential for privacy trees or fencing to maintain the privacy for the existing homes that have shared property lines?
- How is Abstract going to work with the elevation change throughout the site and the challenges that presents (water etc.)?
- What is the motivation to have access on both Jacklin and Sooke Rd?
- Are there any rental properties within the project?
- Is the offset on the north end of the parcel intentional? Is there any intent to extend the parcel closer to the road?
- Is there a plan / schedule for a second Community Engagement meeting?
- Where is the anticipated sewer connection? Is there potential for neighbours to be connected to sewer service as a result of this development?
- When would be the anticipated construction start date?
- Is there any anticipated blasting on site as a part of the construction process?
- Are there any planned measures to control construction externalities? (Noise, sediment, dust, etc.)
- Is there any consideration for drainage? Especially during construction.
- Is there an expected duration of construction?
